Legends Golf Resort – Myrtle Beach |
|
Legends Golf Resort is situated on 1,300 acres of land, offers six different golf courses for resort guests to choose from, including three on-site layouts (Heathland, Moorland and Parkland) plus the 5-Star TPC of Myrtle Beach, and offers amenities and accommodations like a 42,000-sq.- ft. clubhouse with pro shop, lodging for approximately 1,050 guests, the award-winning Aisla Pub and an expansive lighted practice facility. The family of golf courses is continually being updated and improved. All courses have recently received upgrades such as bunker renovation and drainage improvement and an increase in native plants, flowers and grasses around the resort and courses. TPC of Myrtle Beach, Heathland and Heritage were all outfitted with new greens in the summer of 2007.
Tom Doak’s Heathland course provides guests with a taste of the old world. Heathland is reminiscent of a Scottish Links course with windswept hills and deep-faced bunkers. The Heathland takes you back in time to when golf courses were created with an artistic touch. P.B. Dye’s Moorland Course is reminiscent of PGA West’s Stadium Course. Created in the Dye tradition, Moorland will cause golfers to rise to incredible heights on sculpted terrain and sink to considerable depths in the bunkers. Golf Digest recently published their Top 50 Toughest Courses in America and the Moorland course at Legends Resort was No. 37 on the list. Larry Young’s Parkland course is modeled after the style of such legendary architects as Alister MacKenzie (Augusta National) and George Thomas (Riviera Country Club). The course was designed to complement nature so closely as to make the layout indistinguishable from nature itself.
TPC of Myrtle Beach is a true challenge. The course was designed by Tom Fazio and has hosted the Senior Tour Championship. Dan Maples’ Oyster Bay, which is located in Sunset Beach, NC, has been a favorite of Myrtle Beach golfers for over 20 years. Its stunning beauty and scenery makes it one of the must play courses in the Carolinas. Legends Resort, which is now a smokefree facility, is a total golf experience. Guests can relax in the splendor of the luxury golf villas, situated along the Parkland course, enjoy first-class amenities and one of the finest lighted practice facilities in the Southeast. Come see why Legends is the number one golf resort on the Grand Strand.
