P.B. Dye’s Moorland Course is reminiscent of PGA West’s Stadium Course. Created in the Dye tradition, Moorland will cause golfers to rise to incredible heights on sculpted terrain and sink to considerable depths in the bunkers. Golf Digest recently published their Top 50 Toughest Courses in America and the Moorland course at Legends Resort was No. 37 on the list.
Larry Young’s Parkland course is modeled after the style of such legendary architects as Alister MacKenzie (Augusta National) and George Thomas (Riviera Country Club). The course was designed to complement nature so closely as to make the layout indistinguishable from nature itself.
Legends Resort also offers guests three off-site gems. Pawley’s
Island’s Heritage Club is Lowcountry golf at its best. The course,
which opened in 1986, was built on two historic rice plantations and
along the scenic Waccamaw River. Golf Digest recently ranked the
Heritage Club No. 46 on its list of “America’s 100 Greatest Public
Courses.”
TPC of Myrtle Beach is a true challenge. The course was designed by Tom Fazio and has hosted the Senior Tour Championship. Dan Maples’ Oyster Bay, which is located in Sunset Beach, NC, has been a favorite of Myrtle Beach golfers for over 20 years.
