The par-71 Heathland Course, designed by Tom Doak, is a return to the grand "Old Country" traditions of the game. Heathland at Legends Resorts has been distinctively molded in the image of British Isles links courses, with holes reminiscent of familiar links such as St. Andrews, Lahinch and Cruden Bay.

The links-style layout features a dearth of trees, the challenge is presented more by the unobstructed breeze that wafts constantly over the course, and the strategically placed bunkers and lush, deep rough that closely borders the undulating fairways. Large putting surfaces allow even the mid- to high-handicap player to reach greens in regulation, but also demand an impeccable short game in order to score well.

The Heathland is one of designer Tom Doak’s earliest gems. It takes you back in time when golf courses were created with an artistic touch and the natural contours of the land dictated the flow of the course. Windswept hills, deep-faced bunkers and new Champion Bermuda greens are just a few of the challenges in this oldworld-meets-n new-world layout. Golf Digest awarded Heathland 4 ½ – Stars in “Places to Play” and Golf Magazine rated it in the “Top 10 New Resort Courses in the World.”
