Myrtle Beach and the Grandstrand have been selected to host six of the nineteen scheduled events for the inaugural edition of the NGA/Hooters Golf Tour's Carolina Series.

Hooters Carolina SeriesQuail Creek Golf Club, Crow Creek Country Club, Shaftsbury Glen Golf Club, Farmstead Golf Links, Black Bear Golf Club and River Hills Country Club all made the cut to host Carolina Series events and will do so in that order starting July 1.

The Carolina Series, which is scheduled to make stops in Charlotte, Columbia and Spartanburg, will feature fields consisting of Hooters Tour members in addition to local amateurs and professionals.

The Hooters Carolina Series will be patterned along the same lines as the highly successful Bridgestone Central Florida Winter Series, which features 132 player fields, 54-hole events with a 36-hole cut to the top 40 and ties while paying back 85% of member entry fees.

Monroe's Stonebridge Golf Club, located 25 minutes outside of Charlotte, will serve as the opening venue on April 1, which is the scheduled launch date for the tour.

Coastal Carolina's Quail Creek ushers in the Myrtle Beach portion of the series, which makes up the bulk of the schedule lasting from July to early September.

Perhaps the most unique hole on the Carolina Series and in Myrtle Beach is No. 18 at Farmstead Golf Links. The 767-yard, par-6 finishing hole actually begins on the tee in South Carolina and concludes on a large undulating green in North Carolina.

After departing Myrtle Beach the series stops four times in North Carolina including Lexington, Goldsboro, China Grove before finally coming full circle and concluding Oct. 9 in Concord.
