John Thomas Named New Head Golf Professional at Wicked Stick Golf Links

John Thomas will be the new Head Golf Professional at Wicked Stick Golf Links, the Myrtle Beach, S.C. Signature Golf Group managed facility has announced. John Thomas currently is transitioning in to the new position, replacing Darrell Childers who has retired after 4 years of service.

Thomas was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, on October 10, 1978. After High School he attended one year of college and operated his family's convenience store. In 2003, he relocated to the Myrtle Beach area where he attended the San Diego Golf Academy of the Carolinas to fulfill his desire of entering the golf business. 

While attending the Academy, Thomas worked part time at Indian Wells Golf Club as a bag drop attendant and upon graduation, was hired by Blackmoor Golf Club as the first assistant golf professional. Thomas stayed at Blackmoor for one year before accepting the first assistant professional position at Wicked Stick Golf Links, which was designed by John Daly, in 2006.

Thomas was elected to membership in the Professional Golfers Association of America in March 2009 after completing the PGA Golf Professional Training Program. His years of diligent service and loyalty were rewarded in June of this year when he was promoted to Head Golf Professional of Wicked Stick Golf Links.
