Dixon Golf Sponsors FDNY 911 Memorial Golf Outing

Dixon Golf, manufacturer of the high-performance eco-friendly Earth golf ball, announced today that they have partnered with the FDNY to sponsor the FDNY Memorial Golf Outing, which will be held Friday, May 17-22 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The tournaments motto is "this will take courage, dedication and a whole lotta balls!" and that's just fine with Dixon, because each golfer who participates in the event will receive a sleeve of Dixon Earth golf balls so they can experience for themselves the benefits of this High-Performance golf ball while being 100 percent eco-friendly at the same time.

The tournament started in May of 1992 with The Alfred E. Ronaldson Spring Golf Classic in Orange County, New York. It would expand and grow for ten years, and by May 2001, the 10th year of the event, more than 1,500 golfers participated.

Just four months after the final "Ronaldson" September 11th happened. The world changed. In the months that followed September 11th past tournament attendees struggled to hold themselves together.

In May of 2002, they hosted their first Memorial Golf Outing in Myrtle Beach and welcomed firefighters and friends from around the country to join them to celebrate the lives of firefighters who were lost and the brotherhood they all share.

The event has continued to get better with each passing year, and as more firefighters join the pilgrimage to Myrtle Beach. The fun and excitement of the outing has surpassed what the tournament committee envisioned five years ago. This event has become a celebration of their brotherhood.
