Myrtle Beach's premier golf management company, Burroughs & Chapin, has assumed management of Kingston Plantation's Arcadian Shores Golf Club, effective June 1.
“We’re excited to add Arcadian Shores to the Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management collection of golf courses,” said Bill Pritchard, president of Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc. “Since opening, Arcadian Shores has been recognized by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine and two of the holes were honored on the “Dream 18” list by the Sun News in the late 1990’s. We are committed to Arcadian Shores and have chosen some of the best professionals within our company to direct this project.”
Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management will oversee the accounting and information technology, administration, golf operations, maintenance operations, food and beverage operations, sales and marketing, national vendor account programs and maintain customer service excellence.
The Arcadian Shores staff will be led by PGA general manager Archie Lemon; head golf professional Jason Mitchell; and GCSAA superintendent Steve Martin. Lemon also serves as the senior director of golf and sports activities for B&C Golf Management while Mitchell and Martin came to Arcadian Shores from the Grande Dunes Golf Club.
Arcadian Shores, previously owned by FelCor Lodging Trust, was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 1974.
The par-72, 6,446-yard, 18-hole facility features tree-lined Bermuda fairways, 64 sand bunkers, natural lakes, Tifton Bermuda greens, as well as five tee boxes, and presents a challenge for any level of golfer. The course also features a practice facility, the Arcadian Classic Golf School, a fully-stocked golf shop, a custom club maker on premises, as well as a clubhouse with snack bar.
