A Rising Tide Raises All ShipsSince its inception in 2001, Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management has earned the reputation as Myrtle Beach’s leading golf management company, providing operations and marketing services to 10 Grand Strand golf courses which include Arcadian Shores, Farmstead Golf Links, Meadowlands Golf Club, Myrtlewood Golf Club, Pine Lakes Country Club, River Hills Country Club, Tidewater Golf Club, Members Club and Resort Club at Grande Dunes and, as well as two Par 3 courses and five themed mini-golf courses.

On March 14, 2009, Burroughs & Chap-in Golf Management reopened Pine Lakes Country Club after an extensive 20-month, $15 million restoration project to Myrtle Beach’s oldest golf course. Remaining as true to Robert White’s original 1927’s specifi cations as possible, Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management restored the golf course and clubhouse to its former status and early 20th century grandeur as a premier golf resort.

Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management was also instrumental in the creation of the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame in 2009 to honor men and women who played significant roles in the Myrtle Beach golf industry Located in Pine Lakes’ new Hall of Fame Garden, the inaugural Hall of Fame induction ceremony coincided with the Pine Lakes grand opening, with new members to be inducted each spring.

In June, Arcadian Shores became the newest member of the family as Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management assumed management of the Rees Jones facility that originally opened in 1974.

During the summer, Burroughs & Chap-in Golf Management oversaw a five-week renovation project at Tidewater Golf Club, referred to as “the Pebble Beach of the East” by national media members, that concentrated on the enlarging of the tee boxes, adding new sets of tees to enhance the playability and strategies of the design and installing drainage in select fairways and greens to enhance turf health.

“Our goal at Burroughs & Chapin Golf Management is to provide golfers with the ultimate golf experience in Myrtle Beach,” said Bob Swezey, executive vice president of golf and resort operations for Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc. “This was a banner year for our courses as several earned national accolades. The Resort Course at Grande Dunes was selected as the ‘National Golf Course of the Year’ by the National Golf Course Owners Association, and, The Resort Course and Tidewater were both honored by Golf Digest as two of “America’s Greatest Public Golf Courses.”
