Litchfield Country Club is one of the oldest golf course on the South Strand, Litchfield Country Club was built in the early 60s by noted course designer Willard Byrd. Over the years, the course has matured into a fine traditional club with a number of superb dogleg par-fours. They still maintain a private membership, so tee times for visiting golfers are limited but well worth the effort.
A warded 4½ Stars in Golf Digest’s “Places to Play” and one of the "World’s 50 Best” by Conde Nast Traveler, the gracious charms of this country club “signature Course” are enjoyed by only a limited number of visiting golfers. The mature treelined fairways navigate around giant oaks and shimmering lakes of a former Carolina rice plantation, creating an extraordinarily challenging country club golf experience. This traditionally styled layout is the flagship of the historic plantation courses.
